First Published Book

Melvia Miller began creating unique and effective ways to teach during her career as an educator. Her methods spiced up classes and helped students to achieve more ! She coined the term "Edutainment" to describe her techniques. As a result of a lot of people having an interest in what she was doing... she began writing. Educator/Author started her publishing journey when she wrote and published this delightful, multi-cultural classic book: NEW & DIFFERENT FRIENDS" -- which is written in rhyme. Several of her students nicknamed her -- "The Soulful Dr. Seuss" -- as a result of this book. Since then, she has pursued writing and publishing books, manuals, DVDs, board-games and other materials.

Author's Youth

Educator/author Melvia F. Miller grew up in a small city in Indiana. She experienced many of the same conditions and racial hostilities as far too many non-White people have. Those events stimulated her desire to explore and study her own heritage ... and related Black History issues. She began writing about these topics as her education advanced into High School.

During her years in college she studied more about these issues and began to write widely read articles in the campus newspaper. And after that, she began researching and writing books.
